Creation - What I think about it

Exposure to new people and places as well as a great deal of personal study are my main sources of inspiration. I have a strong desire to understand whatever I come in contact with, whether it be a person, abstract concept, or simply a landscape. I search for the essence of a subject, that which most perfectly describes it.
Also forefront in my desire to create is the process of creation itself. I strive for a balance between the intellect and emotions, at times thinking deeply about my next move, at others letting go completely. I rely heavily on intuition, tending to guide my pieces rather than rigidly controlling their creation and outcome. I am often intrigued by the product of my efforts and find that my paintings tend to reveal themselves to me over time. I hope this dynamic is the same for any one else who spends time with them.

What can be seen, I leave for photographs.

My work is in private collections in England, Japan, Canada, France, and the USA.
